My Second Home
Tampa, Florida.
A place that is very special to my family due to its impact on our history. It is a place where my parents found out they were pregnant, a place where my late grandfather spent the majority of his life but also where he lost it, but it is also a place which I call home.
At just 6 months old, I was to take my very first flight to Tampa. Little did I know that this was going to be our family holiday destination right up until present day. I understand how fortunate I am to be able to go to Florida as much as I have, and it is something that I will be forever grateful for. You know that feeling you get when you haven’t been home in ages due to going to University, or maybe you have moved out? That’s the feeling I get when I walk off the plane and step foot into Tampa airport. It sounds really lame but it is a second home to me, and there is no surprise that I never get tired of it there.
The lifestyle is just completely different to Wales. In Wales, you get sheep and cold weather, and yes it is beautiful here but the majority of my favourite memories have been from Tampa. It is a place where I feel like I can accomplish anything, it inspires me to want to travel more of the world and allows me to experience things that I never would’ve done at home. You can’t exactly go snorkelling in Swansea, can you? (unless you want to plunge into a freezing, dark brown sea). I also find myself saying ‘yes’ to more opportunities there, which allows me to make the most of my life.
I wanted to document some of my favourite places to visit as they have made a huge impact on my life. Tampa, Swansea..2 places that have changed me in completely different ways..
