My Top Traveling Tips
It's that time of year when you can get the shorts out, enjoy the sun and embrace the gorgeous weather. Yes, that's right it's Summer! (Well unless you live in Wales when it's raining 75% of the time). People tend to go on holiday in the Summer, but no matter how many times I go away something always goes wrong. I either forget my phone charger, or that new item of clothing that I really wanted to wear. So in order to help you, and me (by getting myself organised) here are my top tips for traveling!
- Cosy socks.
Yes, having your passport can be useful if you want to go away, and bringing a charger, your money etc but you all know that yeah? If you don't well, these items are essential. But so are cosy socks! There is nothing worse when you are travelling on a long haul flight and you're stuck in the sweaty socks that you had been wearing all day whilst sprinting through the airport trying to get to your gate on time (gross I know). So cosy socks are the saviour here. It also prevents other people from smelling your feet on that long haul flight.
- Comfy travelling clothes.
Whether you are going on a 2 hour flight or a 12 hour one, being comfy is essential. Especially if you are getting up at 7am to catch a dreaded morning flight. Plus you are spending a lot of time in the airport so you want to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible whilst travelling. I tend to stick with leggings and a floaty shirt but that's just me.
- Be prepared for security!
Yeah, am I the only one who hates security? Please tell me I'm not? The whole procedure is just so anxiety provoking. You have to ensure that the tiny clear bag holding your tiny bottles of liquids is in the tray, along with your shoes, your laptop, your passport, money, jewellry...anything else? All while a business man behind you is judging you for having so much stuff as he is holding his brief case and already has his shoes in hand. If you are one of those people who flies through security in like 5 minutes please tell me your secrets! I'm always a sweaty mess by the end of it.
- Take your time
Ensure that you have enough time to go through security, check in, drop your bags off etc. It may sound like common sense but just getting up that extra half an hour earlier can reduce the stress of travelling so much. We tend to get to the airport 2 hours before our flight just so we have plenty of time to get through everything, and to also take our time with the whole procedure.
I am actually going away on Saturday to Japan which I am very excited for but also quite anxious about naturally. I am then going to Florida for 3 weeks afterwards so there will be plenty of things to blog about! In order to get myself ready for holidays, look forward to all things travel related this week, as I document my adventure. Plus, if you have any tips yourself please leave them in the comments! Tomorrow, I shall be giving some packing tips (all things tip related, have you noticed a theme?). Speak to you tomorrow!
